Scalp Micro pigmentation (SMP) is a non-surgical procedure which uses cutting-edge technology to replicate the natural appearance of a full head of hair. We recreate the look of a shaved head and slightly longer styles, by carefully analysing our client’s existing hair under a microscope to determine the exact diameter of the follicles and their natural pigment.
Using this information our experienced technician is able to accurately tailor the pigment and design to our client’s natural hair characteristics. The client is left with what appears to the naked eye to be a healthy full head of hair in their chosen style.
It is essential that you carefully consider your desired hairline before proceeding. Our experienced pigmentation specialist will work closely with you throughout, providing expert guidance around what is suitable for your facial shape and bone structure.
Don’t be afraid to clearly express your thoughts and feelings with our technician during the design process. It’s your hairline and the end result should ultimately be exactly how you want it.
It is important for clients to understand that it is preferable to draw a higher hairline initially and lower it at a further session if necessary, as raising a hairline that has been placed too low can prove difficult.
You will typically require three sessions in total, with the first two taking approximately three hours. The third session tends to be shorter – aiming purely to perfect the final look! We recommend a minimum period of ten days in between each session.
Initially your pigment will fade slightly; however, your technician will top it up as necessary during the following sessions.
For a gradual and natural post-procedure approach, and to avoid any evidence of treatment, we advise waiting one day before returning to work or scheduling any important meetings, to ensure any redness has subsided.
Your SMP treatment might eventually start to lighten in colour, reducing the intensity of the look slightly.
There are simple measures that can be taken to help prevent the pigment from fading substantially – these include applying sun cream or wearing a hat in the midday sun.
Slight fading does, however, contribute to a more natural SMP look. It’s for this reason that we choose to use medical grade pigment for the treatment. As you age, your skin and hair colour fade, so your SMP will fade accordingly. You always have the option of contacting Rejuvenate for a quick revision and top-up sessionGet in Touch
