For many of us, choosing to have a hair transplant procedure is a big decision. It’s no wonder, then, that by the time we have our treatment we are impatient to see the outcome. But seeing the full hair transplant results take time and patience. The FUE procedure is extremely sophisticated but your hair needs time to heal and grow.

You need to consider that hair goes through the growth and resting phases. Your newly transplanted hairs will mainly fall into the latter category so you might need to wait around three months or more to see a real change. Don’t worry if hair still appears thin and sparse during this time – this is entirely normal.

After this inital resting phase of around 3-6 months, you should start to see the signs of fuller thicker hair. These results will continue to develop for six or 12 months post-surgery. It all depends on the individual.

Some patients might peak at six months with a thick head of hair – others will need to wait a bit longer as their hair cycle adjusts accordingly. You may continue to see progress until 18 months after the procedure as your hair grafts settle into their new home and grow thicker and more secure.
